About R&R

A family kitchen in Northampton, cooking at the scale your event needs.

Our story

It started with feeding people properly

R&R Event Catering is a family-run kitchen based in Northampton, cooking the food we grew up on for the events that matter most.

What began as cooking for family gatherings turned into cooking for other people’s — first a cousin’s wedding, then a neighbour’s christening, then a company’s summer day. The food never changed. The pots just got bigger.

Today we cater weddings, funerals, birthdays, graduations and corporate events across Northampton and the surrounding counties. We still cook the same way: seasoned the night before, cooked slowly, and served hot.

Food Standards Agency

A hygiene rating of 5

5 Very Good

Catering is a trade where you are asking people to trust a kitchen they will never see. The FSA rating is the one honest answer to that: an environmental health officer visits unannounced, inspects how food is handled and stored, how clean the premises are and how well food safety is managed, then publishes what they find.

5 — Very Good is the highest rating available, and it is a matter of public record rather than something we can award ourselves.

What we stand on

Four things we do not compromise

01

Cooked, not assembled

Stews go on the day before. Salads are made the morning of. Nothing arrives out of a packet.

02

Served hot

We bring our own chafing equipment and we time service to your room, not to our van.

03

Priced honestly

Dish prices are published. One flat £120.00 covers transport and service. That is the whole quote.

04

Out of your way

We set up quietly, we clear as we go, and we leave the venue the way we found it.

Where we go

Northampton and well beyond it

Our home patch is Northampton, and most weekends you will find us somewhere in Northamptonshire — Wellingborough, Kettering, Daventry, Towcester. We regularly travel to Milton Keynes, Leicester, Coventry, Bedford and Birmingham.

Further afield than that? Ask us. If we can get your food there hot, we will quote it.

Questions

The things people ask first

How far ahead should I book?
We ask for at least 7 days’ notice so we can shop and prep properly. Peak Saturdays in summer go months ahead, so earlier is always better.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
We normally cater from 20 guests upwards. Smaller gatherings are sometimes possible — send us a message and we will see what we can do.
What exactly does the £120.00 cover?
Transport of the food and equipment to your venue, setting up the service, keeping everything at temperature through service, and clearing away afterwards. It is a flat fee, not per mile and not per head.
Can you handle dietary requirements?
Yes. Tell us in the notes box on your booking, or drop us a message. Vegetarian, halal, nut-free and gluten-free requests are all routine for us — we just need to know in advance.
How do I pay?
Once we confirm your booking we send payment details by email. Nothing is taken through this website, and no card details are ever entered here.
Can I change my menu after booking?
Up to a point, yes. Reply to your confirmation email with what you would like to change and we will re-issue the quote. Changes get harder within a week of the event.
